We’ve got you. Join this virtual, live meditation mini-retreat that is specifically designed for caregivers and parents who want to learn to meditate or deepen their meditation practice in a supportive and accessible space.

 

In addition to periods of silent sitting meditation, instruction on the retreat will bring the wisdom and power of Jewish mindfulness to the everyday needs of parents.

Retreat facilitators: 

Rabbi Getzel Davis is a rabbi and chaplain at Harvard University where he advises the Student Conservative Minyan. He is the founder and Executive Director of Unorthodox Celebrations which matches hundreds of families each year with inspiring rabbis and cantors for weddings, bnei mitzvah, and baby namings. He is certified in family systems therapy and works with couples and groups at Zivug: Better Together. Getzel has been a teacher of both Vipassana and Hitbodedut (Breslev Jewish meditation) for over a decade. Getzel received an honorable mention in Newsweek's Top 50 Rabbis of 2015 for leading Yom Kippur Services at Occupy Wall Street in Zuccotti Park. He lives in Cambridge, MA with his wife Leah and his children Asher (aged 3) and Esther (aged 1).

Yael Shy is the CEO of Mindfulness Consulting, LLC, where she teaches and consults on mindfulness for universities, corporations, and private clients around the world. She is the author of the book, What Now? Meditation for Your Twenties and Beyond (Parallax, 2017), and the founder of Mindful NYU, the largest campus-based mindfulness initiative in the US. Rabbi Seth Wax is Jewish Chaplain at Williams College. He served as rabbi at Congregation Mount Sinai in Brooklyn, NY, and has been teaching Jewish thought and meditation for a number of years. He lives in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts with his wife Liz and daughter Mia (4 years old), in addition to 2 sweet, attention-seeking hounds.
